From what I can remember (aka: when I wanted scene hair), there's a lot more stuff on wikihow about it, so you should check around. Lurk around in perfection groups to get ideas from the people in there no matter how ridiculous those groups are. c: They usually have pretty amazing hair.
I'll stop being lazy for a second to offer this, though. Thin out your eyebrows. Get them plucked, waxed, whatever. Just make them smaller. I can tell you right now that whatever hairstyle you get in the 'emo/scene' category, those brows will not work with it. The hair is supposed to be the main focus of your head, and you don't want stuff detracting from your awesome new 'do, right?
Emo style is extremely ugly..
why get emo scene hair . whe you could get hardcore hair. grow it longer . make the part more severe. . and get a oli sykes hair cut !

Well it does matter what your dress looks like, but her are some ideas:
-Try doing a messy bun, they look really pretty and dont look like you spent hours doing you hair. Just tell your stylist to do a messy bun and if you want it to be casually messy, or super-messy.
-Do a high bun with curls cascading down. This will look pretty and glamorous and will keep eyes on your hair.

if you have long hair, you should curl the bottom. if you have short hair you should do the sexy look and make it wavy. if your going to wear a cap, you might as well not put it up

Graduation day is big so you got to be lookin your best. you could make it blow dryed full and big or scrunch whichever looks goods, you could have it curled really big by yourself by just using a curling iron or rollers. or try the jessica simpson kitty scrunch slash curly look or curl it real big straight could work too. u can just put curlers in the night before, spray it, and sleep on it...or for thick hair straighten it with a srtaightner/flat iron, always looks cute...

Wear it swept to the side in a low ponytail. Use your bangs to enhance the style and to give it a girly flirty look. Dress up the look with a gold metal hair clasp when going out or just use a regular barrette to play it down.

since your hair is thin and straight, i would get it side parted, cut side bangs and get it layered. it will be easy to maintain, and still look stylish and up to date.

or one of those those that are like big circle with lots of little points on it (that sounds scary, lol..sorry i cant explain it better) that you put in and it pulls the edge of your hair back a couple inches all around your head/hair outline.
Look at hair accesories in your local store--wal-mart, rite aid, whatever, you'll get some ideas im sure.
Okay, here are a couple cute ideas;
1. This is the style i'm wearing right now. Start by putting your hair into a high ponytail. Then twist it around the elastic until it shall twist no more. Then squish down that bun, grap some (did I say some? Excuse me, ALOT!) bobby pins, and just start pinning all around the outside of the bun. Let go, and it should stay up. When you are first learning, it might take you a few times to get it right, but it's worth it. Once you've got the bun all nice, slip on a headband and wa-la!
2. One of the simplist styles is just to get some cute headbands and put it back. Looks pretty on almost any type of hair.
3. Try a french twist/ponytail! You'll need a clip, probably on the smaller side since you have thin hair. Gather your hair in a low ponytail, but don't secure it with a rubber band. Then, grab it in your hand and twist it upwards. Then simple take the clip and stick it in, right in the middle of the twist. Let go, and you have a wonderful new hairstyle! Finish with a headband if you so desire.
4. Do a cute braid! Braid your hair down the back (you can do a french braid if you want), but leave your bangs down. Then take a curling iron and curl your bangs. Really pretty and cute.
One last tip... be sure to invest in good hairspray! After styling, be sure to spritz so that the style stays.

If you really want to make changes, you could take up the length quite a bit. That would make it easier to work with and would keep the ends from looking straggly - they can't help but look a little thin at the length you have it. I might also warm up the color a little, maybe with a few darker highlights. It is pretty, but you are suggesting that you would like to change your look.

Well, I don't like the black streaks in your hair. I think you would look nice if you dyed it all blonde like your sister did. It doesn't have to be the exact same shade but I think that's the only problem with your 'do.
as someone who works in the beauty industry I think the extreme contrast in the dark underneath is outdated. I think the blond looks good on you, but I'd add in some fun low lights in a golden/honey color as well as a bit darker brown to give depth and you can go more dramatic based on the type (how thick, placement) of low lights you have your stylist do

this may seem a bit too simple, but i just tie mine up in a normal pony tale then wrap a small section of hair from the pony tail around the bobble and clip it underneath. it looks like you've geniusly tied your hair up with your hair!!!!
simple but it works for me, a lot of people in my office and my friends commented first time i did this!
accessorize with cute glittery clips and wear different earrings if your ears are pierced. also if you can do french plaits you can section your hair and create two of them.

depending on your age.. you could do a french braid. I find it easier to do on myself than others.. Or when I was younger I would do two braids.. one down each side. It's cute. Okay for the dance, i already know i am straightening it, but i dont want to wear it just down. i wear my hair in a ponytail every day but i wanted to find osmething maybe simple or easy to do once i have gotten it straightened. maybe half up half down but like doing it in a cool way or something. any ideas?
well, without illustrations, its almost impossible to explain what im going to tell you, but here goes. part your hair UP from just in front of both ears. when you get to the middle stop and rubber band it. wet the back down and pull it out of the way with another holder for now. With your too-high half a ponytail, take it down and part it down the middle. band one side. with the side you have free, part THAT down the middle as well. with the top free section- roll it into a loose, "cornroll". to do this, pinch the front of the section and tuck it under itself while pulling backwards. keep moving down your hair until u reach the end, or crown of your hair. Keep it pulled backwards TIGHT. use a small clear (OUCHLESS) rubber band and band it tightly, pulling it tight after you band it. DO this to the other free sction of your hair. let down the other side and repeat the process. You should now have four rolls. Take bobby pins and open them wide and put them around each ponytail holder, pushing the pins INTO the rolls. This loosens them up so your hair doesnt look plastered to your head. Ive found that patting them with mousse (NOT GEL) keeps them in place while letting them look soft at the same time. If youre going for more of an elegant look, simply buy some fake plastic daisies or flowers that match your dress, and hook them to the bobby pins before you slide them in. Tease the hair just behind the rolls to give it more volume. Longer earrings with your hair down makes it look way too busy. I suggest finding the cheapest biggest sparkly earrings you can. With your hair parted in front of your ears, it hides them somewhat, and the flash of sparkle when you turn your head looks awesome. Feel free to email me if you wanna watch me do this on webcam, its WAY easier than it sounds.

i think you can do a knob but not the regular ones that are boring. You can tell the hairdresser to make a knob that is messy at the back , not very tight but a litle bit loose, plus top of your head a litlle bit bouffant.(bumpy)(i dont know it is the right word for it). you can complete your knob with very nice long earrings matches with your dress. For a dance or night I think this is one of the best looks.

ok, first try some light blond highlights... that will refresh your look... then maybe some layers, layers that frame your face are fun, easy to curl and style, and can give you a whole new look without cutting into your style and length.
Something I really like to do, is use synthetic hair when I pull mine up, you can get pieces that you wrap into a ponytail to give you instant fullness and a whole new look, (there are tons of colors).
You can also get clip in hair extensions, you put them in in the morning, and take them out in the evening... they are so fun.

Well it is the holidays so go for a more glam look. Big waves are back in style think 40's movie star power with the deep part on the side and big shiny waves in your hair. With the right dress something either strapless or with a high collar will compliment this look, but be sure to have the right makeup also becuase if you don't it won't complete the look. Be sure to go to your local MAC counter and buy some lashes they are $10 and they will put them on for free. If you think red lipstick is too harsh for you go for a flattering sparkling berry light, go light on the blush and remember just to highlight your brow bone with black eyeliner.
If you really want to add flare to your hair get some extensions the same length as your hair and have your stylist add them in so when he/she does the waves it will show some highlights. No glitter it's too much. Hope this helps

if u want your hair to be up, you could put your hair in a bun and leave small amounts of hair to curl, (like ringlets). or you could simply spiral your hair and leave it down.
Overdone hairdos are tacky. Go for a classic look that is not too contrived.

Well, beachy waves are nice, but can take a lot of work, and if you're like me, scrunching random sections...yeah, that doesn't work. At all.
For something really easy, use a mousse on your damp hair and then blow dry your hair upside down. When it's mostly dry, use a round brush to lift sections of hair up and away from your head, blow drying at the same time. Brush all the way through for a little bit of curl at the ends. It's a nice, polished look.
Also, ponytails can be a great casual look. With layers, a high ponytail can be really sexy. Or a loose side ponytail with your bangs down, is a really soft, flirtatious look.
And you can't go wrong with some loose braids. For a funky, casual look.
how about big waves... like beachy waves. they are casual but looks super adorable.

you can use curlers or irons to create those looks.
for a faster way to create waves is to use a texturizing spray or cream. apply the texturizing product, and scrunch random sections for waves.

Well, I saw a girl with this hairstyle at the mall and I loved it. Well, get highlights and lowlights then get a haircut in a back that s in the shape of a V.
If you'd like to keep you hair the same length and/or trying not to get expensive you could try what i do with my hair, it should work the same my hair is probably just thicker, and well red, but anyways....i often only will put up the top half of my hair if "odd" ways,one way i do it weird is to do a ton! of little braids but only the top half! or b.) act like you're going to put your hair in regular pigtails right behind our ears but then leave them in a "messy" bun look, and I often place those little charmed barrettes *i dunno if i spelled that right or not, i hope you understand what i meant* into them so it looks like things are hidden in my hair. c.) another one is to go all out and do wha My mother calls the Janet Jackson ponytail! now just wait till you hear it k? take all your hair and put it in a ponytail directly on TOP of your head . it keeps it off your neck and it bounces around all day! you'd be surprised it actually stays out of your eyes for the most part! d.) another one i like to do is get the cheap die from the store, wash out of course, and dye only the bottom layer of my hair! it actually creats a cool lokking effect. Its like trying on a new hair dye without the lasting effects and if you don't like it, well wash you hair everyday and in two weeks its gone!, mostly of course ,a little bit of the highlights always seem to be left in the "wispy" hairs but those eventually fade.

You could powder it that is what they used to do or you could get some of that spray and go to a hair dresser. Have them do an updo for you and then spray the visible parts.
You might be able to find a can of that spray on hair color. Check your local halloween costume shop, drug store, or spencer's they usually carry the spray on stuff.
I know I've seen the brand Bwild in stores before... its not too hard on you're hair, just be sure to wash and condition thoroughly after using it. I used it to make my hair blue for a school thing before.

Here are a few ideas:
1) Headbands are always a good choice. Many different styles.
2) If it's naturally straight curl it a bit! Maybe just enough for a few waves? Or maybe you want full, twisty curls.
3) Put your hair in a mid-height ponytail. Then add bounce to your hair with your curling iron. Pin each curl in place as you go. Then let the curls cool for about 10 minutes, then brush 'em out.
4) If you wear a mid part, do a side part!
5) Low pigtails, put them right under your ears. If your hair frizzes, use Herbal Essenses "None of Your Frizziness" anti-frizz cream. I use it and it works great閳ユ挴鈧彸nd smells good, too!
6) This one comes in steps. Ready? OKAY:
Step 1: Flip your head over and spritz crown with volumizing spray, holding that position for five seconds for your hair to dry. Flip up and use a fine-tooth comb to tease your hair at the crown. This adds height.
Step 2: Gather the top half of your hair in a small ponytail and secure with an elastic. To create a bump, hold the pony with one hand and push the elastic forward toward the front of your head.

ok, well if u want a completely different look, here's one that curls ur hair and puts it in a pony tail: Smooth all of ur hair back in2 a low pony and secure with an elastic @ the base of ur neck. divide ur ponyttail in half; wrap a black elastic (clear 4 lite hair) about 2-3 inches below the base of each tail. add elastics to both tails evry 2 inches, stopping about a half an inch above ur ends. then put both of them 2 one side of ur neck, it looks reall cute! or, u can just curl all of ur hair and leave it down!

You have good hair to work with for scene hairstyles....Scene hairstyles is just about going crazy, being creative and having fun with your hair. You can cut it a weird way, make it choppy, or, what i would highly suggest, put colours in it. Purple, black, platinum blonde or red are usually the popular colours for scene haistyles. Most people have hair over their eyes, like a fringe (bangs) hanging over one eye. And usually really out-there makeup is good as well, although that doesnt have anything to do with the hairstyle.

Keep your hair the way it is, except get layers and side bangs. Only get straight bangs if you have a five-finger forhead, but if you don't get side bangs. No matter what bangs you get, make sure you blow dry them after every shower, or else they will be flat and nasty, and not puffy. If your hair is limp, put gel at the roots of the bangs so they have more of a lift. If your hair is frizzy at the sides, put gel at the sides and blow dry it straight. The gel won't look greasy, it will be disguised but will keep your hair under control. Make sure you get layers because layers are really cute!

Our cheerleading team is going to a MAJOR competition where looks count for a lot. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can style our hair? Whatever you guys think up it has to work for a lot of different thicknesses of hair!
Most cheerleaders wear their hair up, so it doesn't get in their eyes when they're performing. I have a couple of ideas:
1.Start by putting your hair in a low ponytail. Reach underneath the ponytail and use your finger and thumb to make a hole in the middle of your hair above the elastic. With the other hand, twist the ponytail, grab it with your fingers that are making a hole and pull it through.
2.Make a mini ponytail. Gather a handful of hair from each side of your hair and combine with the first ponytail in the back of you head. Tie off. Gather the rest of you hair from each side and combine with hair from first and second ponytails. Tie off with an elastic.
3.Purchase or make headbands that have your school's colors and put them on after putting your hair in a high ponytail.
4. Brush hair on top of head and tie off with an elastic. Twist ponytail and tie into a knot around the elastic. (unwashed hair works best. Natural oils give it better hold). Insert bobby pins, pinning hair on scalp and in knot. Finger-comb sprout at top.

another good way is to wear it in a straight high poneytail with a poof and your bow

Try to curl it then put it in a high ponytail or put it in a bun. You can also try to put it 2 braids
can your team have their down? in some of ours you are allowed to and others your cant. if you can have it down, do have up half down and all have matching bows. just make sure your bangs are back if you have any:) also choose something that you can tumble and stunt without it getting in the way. and make sure to practice with your hair and uniform so you can tell for sure!

Make (2) french braids. Then twist the two ends of the braids together to create a bun. This looks sooo cute. You can also add bows and glitter.
If you wanted to try something really different braid ribbon right into your hair (tie or clip ribbon in your hair before you braid and add the ribbon just like you would hair).

i absolutely love the color and i would like to put some of it in my hair, not my whole head. I dont want to put it in streaks. I was thinking maybe in the underneath layer or under my bangs. any ideas of where i could put the dye?
under your bangs would look good. we also do a technique that puts it at the nape of your neck all the way across. not alot. just part off a section about two inches wide. if your hair is dark the manic panic won't show up unless you bleach it first.
I've done the tips of my hair, about 6 inches of it, in Pillarbox red. But depending on your natural color you may have to bleach it first for the color to take. I have natural blonde hair, so it took pretty well. I washed my hair with PH balancing shampoo, applied the dye, then wrapped it in tinfoil. I hit it with a blow dryer every once in a while, and left in it for two and a half hours, came out nice, and if you are only doing a small part of it the dye will last a long time, no need to throw it out, it's already ready to go. I have streaks in my hair of blue, but they really dont look tacky. How about just having sections (small layers about 3inches across) all over your head, but leaving the top layer of your hair alone so that :
a) you wont see the roots when it grows out
b) when you move you head, you will get flashes of turquiose from underneath your natural colour (or whatever colour the rest of your head is)
And also to agree with everyone above, you will need to lighten your hair first, esp if its really dark.

i am going to a dance and dont know how to wear my hair. You dont get your hair done you it yourself. Its that kind of dance so kind causal but then dressy. Any ideas or pictures? Please think of something!

Although I understand you are going to a dance, and not a wedding, a good online resource for hair styles (including different styles for different lengths) is theknot.com.
There are styles for formal and casual, funky and natural. You can look through the pictures and find something you like, or an idea at least.
Thumbing through magazines is a great way to get ideas too. Sometimes you can find a look on a model that you like!
One thing I recommend is that if you have something specific you want, bring a picture of it (printed out on the computer, torn from a magazine, etc) to your stylist so they have something visual to go from.

well... it really depends on what type of dance but casual would be a bun... i do gymnastics and i normally just scrunch my hair and put it in a ponytail. if u've seen stick it b4 then i really liked the preppyish girls hair...
It depends what you think looks good on you
If you have naturally straight or wavy hair(and you like updos), try curling your hair and pulling up half of it. Or, you can just curl it and leave it down. If you have curly hair, then you should
straighten it and turn out or turn in the ends. YOu can even just pull your hair back into a mesy or fancy bun. Some people know how to make twisty cornrows and then curl the rest of your hair . It really would have been easier if you gave more info on your hair texture and appearance. Well...have fun!

uM WELLL IM 14 TOO AND MY DANCE JUST PASSED AND MOST GIRLS HAD THEIR HAIR DONE HOWEVER THEIR HAIRDRESSER DID. just tell your hairdresser that its for a dance and theyll do your hair good. dont worry about it.
hald up half down with curls. Think jessica simpson with it pinned up. Add some rhinestones randomly to give it a finishing touch.

Use long waves to change your look!
1. Make a horizontal part along the back of your head, one-inch above the nape of your neck, from ear to ear.
2. Clip the hair that's above the part up and out of the way.
3. Attach both rows of clip-in wavy extensions along the part, side to side, from ear to ear.
4. Let the top half of your hair down.
5. Curl the top layer of your own hair with a curling iron (set on low heat) to match the wavy texture of the extensions.
6. Gather the section of hair on the right side of your part down to your ear and pin it up one-inch above your right ear.

okay first of all you are NOWHERE near fat.
and honestly i don't think you need much makeup, you look just fine without it but maybe try some loose powder or something to get rid of any shininess.. any guy should already be impressed.
You appear to be quite pale (aside from the flour) so I'd recommend eyes in warm shades of brown and brown curled lashes. (Alternatively you could try navy mascara).
A little concealer under your eyes and using a large fluffy brush sweep a bit of bronzer along your cheeks and down your nose to give you a glow.
For lips, prep them with Vaseline and apply a little pink/bronze lip gloss to the centre.
You have nice brown eyes... take advantage of that! Grab some gold eyeshadow (CoverGirl 4-Colour Eye Palletes in Cafe has a great gold) And spread on eyelid. Open eye up by dabbing just a little bit of white eyeshadow in your inner eye corners (just almost up against ur nose) and finish with a coat of black mascara.
But do this before you put any makeup on: clean face, moisturize with a LIGHT moisturizer, lip chap on lips, and put some liquid wand concealer under your eyes and any red or blemish zones. Instead of rubbing in, dab in. If you find your forehead or nose or chin gets REALLY oily, dab a little powder on that matches ur skin tone.
Take a mousse bronzer and rub into cheeks ( not in circles on the apple of your cheek!). Some people find a subtle powder bronzer to be less intimidating. Give it a go with a fairly large, soft, long haired brush.
Finish your make up regime with another coat of your lip chap, smackers, or whatever you chose. I think you'd best stay away from lipgloss, just like many girls should because of the way their features are. :)
For hair, just make sure it's clean... you look like you have thick hair, get some layers and side bangs or put it up in a high curly pony when you don't feel up to wearing it down. :)

You are not fat, I'm guessing the person that said that has the figure of a 12 year old boy (or is one) and probably jealous because you've got big beautiful eyes, high cheekbones, naturally full, nicely shaped lips and a cute nose to boot. With the shape of your face, you can pretty much get away with any hairstyle, and that ticks the majority of us women off! It may be the maturity of me, but wouldn't it be better if the person whose attention you're trying to get was more interested in YOU as a person than your looks? What happens if you "get" him, and all he wants is a "pretty" girlfriend? Don't you think then that he'll always be looking for some"thing" prettier or be jealous of friends who have some"thing" he perceives as prettier? Moving on.....
The only REAL "flaw" I can see from the picture is that you're overzealous with the eyebrow plucking, let them grow in a little or use an eyebrow pencil. With dark eyes and hair, you need to pass on the pastels. I'm not suggesting "goth" but you could use a little more "oomph" around the eyes, like a darker brown smudged eyeliner and two coats of mascara, and some color for your lips. Play up your natural beauty! Plus, that will free you from hours of getting "made up" or worrying about your makeup. Earthtones will do wonders. You HAVE the features most women try to "fake" and are oh so jealous of.
As for a hairstyle, from the picture, I'm guessing that your hair is thick and wavy? The length seems right (but then with your shape of face, any length will be right). If it's naturally curly, you have another bonus, quit trying to fight it---- curls and waves are "in" again. If you want a softer look, call around and find someone who likes to do razor cuts (most don't, unless it's to thin the living bageezus out of your hair, which will have reverse effects). A good razor cut will soften the natural tendancy of course hair to just look "choppy" when a traditional haircutting method is used. DON'T try to get highlights or chunking done. This is outdated and looks ridiculous (particularly on people with dark coloring otherwise, such as dark eyes and dark hair like you have). If you want to add some depth to your natural color use a color type of shampoo such as "red" to play up your natural warmth. Hope I helped and didn't overlecture.......
