I need cute Hair ideas, any one?

My hair is short(JUST above my shoulders, and growing) All I do with it is straighten it and when I pull it in a ponytail, i look bald haha. I'm scared to curl my hair cause it would look like an afro, should I try it.? If any one has ANY ideas then please help. Oh and I've been told that I look like Vanessa Hudgens so use her for inspiration(and if you don't know how i look like). Oh and I have side bangs and I part my hair on the side, like Vanessa H.
